How do you prepare for a new feature in Blogger, like what are the steps you take as a PM to get a feature into blogger from the point where you listen to user’s feedback until the engineer works on it and then released to new users. How long is that cycle on average ?

Inspiration for new features is everywhere. It comes from our users, from other cool products, from our day to day problems. Inspiration also happens all the time. So the hard thing is deciding which idea is worth investing in, which idea will produce the biggest impact in your product.

SXSW Texas is about to get some Hummus flavor

Howdy y’all, YallaStartup is heading to Austin Texas to represent the Middle Eastern startup community at SXSW!

SXSW is one of the hottest, and biggest conferences in the US around Film, Music and Interactive Media. For the first time this year there will be panel on Entrepreneurship in the Middle East and YallaStartup will be taking part of it. The panel will take place on March 14 at 9:30am and will discuss the state of digital entrepreneurship, obstacles, opportunities and success stories.

If you happen to be at SXSW, pass by say “howdy y’all” and make sure to cheer us. If you are not around, feel free to give us ideas and thoughts to talk about by commenting below, tweeting, emailing, texting, buzzing, yamlifying, foursquaring or even pigeon posting (unless the pigeon gets shot down by our Texan hosts).

YallaStartup to mentor ArabNet Startups!

As a lot of you know by now there is one hot event coming our way, and YallaStartup is a proud supporter ! ArabNet is the first international conference for the Arab web industry and will take place in Beirut on the 25th and 26th of March. It will bring together leaders from across the MENA, Europe and Silicon Valley to discuss cutting-edge trends and emerging opportunities.

The conference will also feature some very cool ideas and startups through pitch and demo sessions. We are happy to announce that YallaStartup will be offer mentorship for selected top startups/ideas. This means we will assign mentors from our pool of experts to closely work and help the startups with their needs.
